EPC Students attend a "Day Among Friends"
Charlestine Williams and Kayleigh Norris participated in a "Day Among Friends".
At this event Laura Bush visited St. Mark's Catholic School, continuing her public platform of promoting literacy since leaving the White House.
During the visit, Laura Bush read to 34 children from a book she wrote with her daughter, Jenna, who also chose a career in education.
Mrs. Bush told the children she modeled the book after her own personal experiences in classrooms.
Students we talked to say the visit was a thrill.
After her visit to the school, Mrs. Bush attended a private event in Richmond.
She currently serves as the UN Ambassador for the Global Literacy Decade.
